Dorian Pavus, The Black Divine(or Archon!) / Temptation cards
Continuing the companion fade fear series!
When I’d first seen Dorian’s fade fear, my inquisitor had yet to gain enough approval from Dorian, so the reason as to WHY his fear would be temptation of all things was rather unclear to me. Then I romanced him, and seeing him so careful and restrained at love to the point of being fearful made me think that maybe it wasn’t just the temptation but also the yet unknown(to him at least) consequences of succumbing to attraction that he feared. But I found this still a bit lacking… And then I read a thread on reddit interpreting his fear to be that of giving in to Tevinter & his father’s expectations, to just settle down, have perhaps a family with an unfortunate spouse, and be the corrupted yet powerful magister that everyone expects him to be, and ultimately lie to himself. I guess I sort of… mashed the two interpretations to do this piece? Anyways, it shouldn’t be too hard to spot the differences between the ideal / fade fear cards :) hehe
Oh and also - I’d like to do one or two more pieces for this little ideals & fade fears series and if you have anyone you’d like to see, please consider dropping a name in the link [right here]!
I have been binge watching this show for a while now, but watching it live is worth staying up til 4 am LOL. I’m so hooked!
as for the piece itself, Im still not sure where I want to go with it (I accidentally lost a part of the illustration when I cropped and didnt make a new save file orz) so for now I will live it like this and sit on it a bit :c
